Monitoring for AHA Instructor Certification Renewal or Compliance Review
Your continued instructor alignment with an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center (TC) is based upon being monitored by a Faculty Trainer (FT) while conducting an AHA classroom based course. If you conduct classes virtually, you will also have to be monitored conducting an AHA course as a Virtual Instructor (Effective 9/1/2023). The intent of the AHA monitoring policies is to ensure consistent quality in AHA courses wherever they are taught. The Training Center Coordinator (TCC) may require additional monitoring for transfer instructors, for compliance reasons, or at the recommendation of Faculty. Monitoring may be conducted in-person or virtually.
In addition to a successful monitoring session, all AHA Instructor requirements must be met as well as the requirements of the TC, AHA Ethics/Code of Conduct, and use of current course materials.
The monitored course must be taught according to the guidelines and core curriculum set forth in the current editions of the AHA course textbook(s) and/or Instructor Manual(s).
Schedule your Instructor Monitoring for Renewal Certification in 3 EASY STEPS:
- If you are currently aligned with Tri CPR LLC TC – Go to www.tricpr.org to make payment through your Instructor Membership for a discount. If you are not aligned with Tri CPR LLC TC – Please call 1-800-517-7156 to schedule your monitored course and receive an invoice.
- Provide your current Provider ecard, Instructor ecard, and Instructor Essentials Certificate for the course discipline you are being monitored. Email documents to certificates@tricpr.org with "Instructor Monitoring" in the subject line.
- Receive your Instructor ecard via email with 24-36 hours.
NOTE: TF may require an Instructor to meet additional teaching and monitoring requirements.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
