Basic Life Support (BLS) training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, performing CPR, choking relief, and using an AED, and the roles of each link in the Chain of Survival. This course is for licensed or nonlicensed healthcare providers and covers pre-hospital skills for first responders.  The HeartCode BLS Online ELEARNING Link is included in the class price. The BLS course covers the following:

• Adult and Pediatric CPR
• Foreign body airway obstruction in conscious and unconscious patients
• Two-rescuer scenarios with the use of a barrier protection (pocket mask) and a bag valve mask ventilation (BVM)
• Use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

HEALTH & SAFETY PRECAUSIONS: Our courses are conducted by an AHA instructor and we limit in person instruction to NO MORE THAN 6 PEOPLE to help reduce health risk. Local protocol may require a face mask to enter the facility. Wearing a face mask during class is optional.

1.    Once the payment is made, you will receive course confirmation and instructions for the course via email. The course can be completed in 3 - 3.5 hours depending on the number of students present. 

2.     All course materials and equipment are provided.  To reduce health risks students are encouraged to bring their own pen or pencil and paper for testing.  Students should wear comfortable clothes for the hands-on skills test.  

3.     Student manuals for this class are available in print/ebook format at www.shopcpr.heart.org/product-type.

4.     After students complete the course they will receive an American Heart BLS CPR card via email usually within 24-36  hours.
